Poly Prep's robotics teams are made up of a diverse group of students with representation from over 5 ethnicities. Although our first team was created between 2019 and 2020, we've had to dismantle our practices because of COVID-19. Since then, we have recreated our team, the Blazing Bluebots, and started a second team, Polymorphism, a year later. We strive to improve our skills, uplift others, and encourage other people in minoritized groups, such as people who are Black, Latinx, Asian, and/or female, to join and learn about robotics as well.
FTC (FIRST Tech Challange) is the competition in which our robotics teams compete. To quote them directly: "FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming." To learn more, go to the FTC Robotics website here.
